OFFICIAL ENGLISH TESTS: (CPE) Certificate of Proficiency in English

The (CPE) Certificate of Proficiency in English is the University of Cambridge's most advanced general English exam. Those who obtain the CPE, are generally regarded as having a level of English that is similar to that of a fairly educated native speaker of English.

Like most Cambridge examinations, the exam is comprised of 5 parts:

Reading
Writing
Use of English
Listening
Speaking

Each part is worth 20% of the total marks. Passing grades are A, B and C. The certificate is valid for life. CPE is good for people who would to work or study abroad, or to develop a career which requires language skills (e.g. business, medicine, etc.). The CPE is recognized by many higher education institutions and employers throughout the world.
