OFFICIAL ENGLISH TESTS: (SLEP) Secondary Level English Proficiency test

The SLEP (Secondary Level English Proficiency Test) is a test created by ETS and administered by American middle (junior) and high schools to applicants for whom English is a second language. The test is equivalent to the TOEFL, which is administered by American colleges and universities to international applicants. Unlike the TOEFL, the SLEP test is much less difficult, consisting of only two sections (the TOEFL has four). Also, it takes about half the time to write the SLEP as it does the TOEFL.
