Calgary is the largest city in the Canadian province of Alberta, and is located in the southern part of that province. The city is very (close-by/close) to the Rocky Mountains, so there are a (number/numerous) of major mountain (resorts/resources) near the metropolitan area. Calgary's economy is mostly (central/centered) on the petroleum industry, although other industries, (the same as/such as) agriculture, tourism, and high-tech, also (play/make) an important role. Although the population has increased (considerably/conicidentally) during the last 15 years, Calgary still tries to (maintain/measure) its "Cowboy/Western" roots. It is, after all, (home/seat) to the "Calgary Stampede", a huge, yearly celebration of the cowboy's way of (live/life).
