Cities around the world (ESOL practice): Belfast, Northern Ireland

Practice English grammar and vocabulary by learning about cities from around the world. Here's a description of Belfast, Northern Ireland. Read it and choose the right word for each blank space :) Good luck!

Belfast is the capital and largest city of Northern Ireland. It is, after Dublin, the (two/second) largest city on the island of Ireland. Historically, the city has (experimented/experienced) a lot of (political/politics) violence, although these days things are fairly (calm/cold) in that respect. That said, much of the city is still (segregated/synchronized) along religious or political (lanes/lines). Belfast has always been (and in some ways still is) an important industrial centre, especially for the linen, tobacco, and (ship-making/shipbuilding) industries. In fact, the city was (nicknamed/nicked) "Linenopolis" in the 19th century because of all the linen that was produced there. The city does get quite a (few/many) visitors, and (boosts/boasts) some interesting landmarks, including the beautiful neoclassical (city/civil) hall, Belfast Castle, and the Grand Opera House.
