Cities around the world (ESOL practice): Brighton, England

Practice English grammar and vocabulary by learning about cities from around the world. Here's a description of Brighton, England. Read it and choose the right word for each blank space :) Good luck!

Brighton (officially known as Brighton and Hove) is the most (population/populous) seaside resort in the United Kingdom. Its (near/proximity) to London makes it a popular (gateway/getaway) from the city. In fact, so many Londoners take day trips to Brighton, that it is sometimes referred to as "London-by-the-sea". Brighton is known for its bohemian (atmosphere/stratosphere), evident in the large number of artistic and (alternate/alternative) cafes, bars, and clubs. It is a very (progress/progressive) city, one in which the Green Party recently won the (majority/most) of seats in the local (politics/elections), a historical first. Architecturally, Brighton has a few prominent buildings, such as the famous Royal Pavillion, but its main attractions are its above-mentioned ambiance and, of course, its beach. The Brighton Pier and boardwalk offer good (requirements/opportunities) to take (out/in) some sea air.
