GRAMMAR REVIEW! Past Participles in English
A past participle is a verb form typically used to create perfect tenses, passive voice, and sometimes as an adjective. It's the third principal part of a verb, following the base form and the simple past.
Formation
For regular verbs, the past participle is formed by adding -ed to the base verb:
walk →
walked
talk →
talked
For irregular verbs, the past participle often changes form and must be memorized:
go →
went →
gone
eat →
ate →
eaten
write →
wrote →
written
