There are a lot of unusual Christmas traditions around the world. Here are several of the more interesting ones:

Philippines: Giant lantern festival
Towns compete to create enormous, elaborate lanterns, often several stories high.

Lithuania: Kūčios fish meal with hidden objects
Families hide small objects in the fish dinner to predict the future.

Poland: Sharing oplatek
People break thin wafers and share them with wishes for health and luck.

Ireland: Wren boys
On St. Stephen's Day (Dec 26), people dress as "wren boys" in costumes, parading and singing, sometimes carrying a fake bird.
