Direct object pronouns replace the noun that receives the action of a verb. This is exercise 1 of 2, covering the core replacement pattern. Exercise 2 practices the same skill with more varied sentence contexts.
Grammar reviewDirect object pronouns
A direct object pronoun replaces a noun that receives the action of the verb directly. Each subject pronoun has a corresponding object form — first person singular becomes me, the plural of the first person becomes us, and so on.
Position: the object pronoun comes directly after the verb or preposition. She called ______. / They saw ______. / I don’t like ______.
Common error: using subject pronouns in object position.
The subject form "he" becomes "______" as an object; "she" becomes "______"; "they" becomes "______".
