level: Intermediate (B1/B2)

A second indefinite pronouns exercise with more challenging contexts — negatives, questions, and the any- compounds used with a positive meaning. If you haven't done exercise 1 yet, start there.

Grammar review Indefinite pronouns — advanced patterns

Any- in positive sentences (free choice meaning):
The any- compounds in positive sentences signal free choice — "it doesn’t matter which."
You can sit ______ you like.  /  ______ can join the club.

No- compounds with positive verbs:
The no- compounds give a negative meaning without requiring a negative verb — never use them with not.
There’s ______ I can do. ✓   There isn’t ______ I can do.

Every- for completeness:
The every- compounds emphasize totality across people, things, and places.
______ agreed. / I’ve looked ______. / ______ is ready.

Singular verb — always:
______ knows the answer.  /  ______ was fine.

READY TO PRACTICE? LET’S GO!

Choose the proper indefinite pronoun (choose from anybody, nobody, someone, everything, something, nothing) to complete each of the following sentences.
Example: There's not much more to say. I've already told them everything.
