MOVIE TRAILERS TO PRACTICE COMPREHENSION
Watching movie trailers is beneficial for ESL students because they provide short, engaging, and authentic language input. Trailers expose learners to real-life English, including natural pronunciation, intonation, and everyday expressions, without overwhelming them with long dialogues.

TOP TIP: Are TV shows better than movies for listening comprehension?
Generally TV shows are considered better for listening comprehension for the following reasons:
1. More exposure over time
A TV series gives you many hours with the same voices, accents, and speaking styles. This repetition helps your brain adapt faster than a single 2-hour movie.
2. Natural, everyday language
TV shows (especially dramas, sitcoms, and slice-of-life shows) use more conversational English—interruptions, fillers, slang, and casual phrasing—closer to real-life speech.
3. Gradual learning curve
You get used to the characters and context, so comprehension improves episode by episode even if the language stays challenging.
4. Shorter chunks
Episodes (20-45 minutes) are easier to focus on than a long movie, and you can rewatch key scenes without fatigue.
