Conjunctive adverbs 3

Grammar review A conjunctive adverb needs a semicolon before it and a comma after it when it connects two complete sentences:
Turn down the music; otherwise, the neighbors will complain.

This exercise covers connectors for several different relationships:
Contrast: however, nevertheless, in contrast
Result: therefore
Substitution: instead
Alternative consequence: otherwise (if not, then...)
Certainty: undoubtedly

Tip: read the whole sentence first and decide what relationship it needs before picking a connector; several options can sound "close enough" if you only look at the blank in isolation.
